{"id":10,"date":"2016-12-08T01:59:24","date_gmt":"2016-12-08T01:59:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/lauramccphd.com\/?page_id=10"},"modified":"2024-11-07T09:59:17","modified_gmt":"2024-11-07T15:59:17","slug":"papers-and-publications","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/lauramccphd.com\/index.php\/home\/research\/papers-and-publications\/","title":{"rendered":"Papers and Publications"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>&#8220;I have always believed that contemporary gender discrimination within universities is part reality and part perception, but I now understand that reality is by far the greater part of the balance.&#8221; \u2014Charles Vest, when president of MIT (<a href=\"http:\/\/web.mit.edu\/fnl\/women\/women.html\">source<\/a>)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-c8fe740c25d4a34bc84137a7d5ef0a4c\" style=\"color:#f2d6bd\">I teach at a primarily undergraduate institution with ~15 classroom hours a week. I still have been able to have fun with research and writing. And my writing spans several genres: advice to department chairs, humorous essays, traditional journal articles, and letters to the editor.
